I went to my 20 week check up on 5-20. I was so nervous. We had the sono done first. She measured baby a first and it went pretty smoothly. After she was finished with that she went to look and see what baby was and it was a GIRL! I wasn't shocked at all. I automatically knew then that the other was a girl also because of them being identical. She then went on to measure baby b and oh what fun that was! Baby b was being so active that she had to wait a min or two for her to settle down. They were literally kicking each other in the face! Poor babies. She finally got baby b measured and went to check and see what was in between and sure enough girl parts also. The tech had mentioned that she seen girl parts on baby b last time but couldn't say because it was still to early to be sure. I was a little over 13 weeks then. Then came the fun part. She wanted to try 3D/4D on the twins because she had never done it on twins this early. Unfortunately we didn't get to see much:( They were both facing my spine and wouldn't turn around. Then last she measured my cervix and said it looked great with and without pressure.
Next we went to get all the results from the Dr. and was happy to hear that the babies looked great! Baby A's weight was 12 oz and growing right on time. The fluid on the brain was great at 7mm. (anything under 10mm is good) Baby B's weight was 10 oz and brain fluids was 6mm. They both had plenty of water around them. I believe it was a little over 11.3 for each baby. Also no sign of TTTS for now! Then he was sooo happy to see that my cervix was measuring 4.9cm! I'm safe from premature labor for now. He said that if it was measuring 2.5cm or less would be a great indicator for premature labor. I will go back for measurements again on 6-15. So that means I get another sneak peek! I can't wait:)
