26 week Appt.

Seen the Dr. today. I'm 26 wks 2 days today. We had to wait awhile he had to go deliver a baby. I was getting paid back for the four times I made the office be put on hold. HA! My blood pressure was great 98/74 I think it was. We heard the heartbeats this time. At first he only checked for one HB and I was like hey what about the other one! LOL He came back over and said your right theres two! Their HBs were 148 and 168. Measuring on time and the awful itchy rash I have is poison oak! What a shocker! I have not been outside at all so don't know how I got it. I go back in 2 weeks to check growth and cervical length. Can't wait to see them again I look forward to the sono appts.

Diabetic Center Appt.

Learned alot today. My 1 hr GTT was 140 and 140 is the cut off so thats why I am having to monitor my BG and what I eat. I was put on a 2100 calorie diet that has to include 15 gm of carbs, 8 gm of protien, and 70 grams of fat a day. Later on it may have to be increased due to me carring twins. I feel like I'm starving ALL the time. I have to check my urine for ketones thats something new to me. If they are moderate or high thats not good for the babies developing brain. I will go back in two weeks to see how things are going.

24 weeks

24 week appt.

I had my 24 week appt on June 15. They did another growth sono and everything is looking GREAT! At first the tech got them confused because they were both head down. They are both weighing about 1lb 3oz. My favorite part was when she first started one of them had a very big yawn.! You could actually see her open her mouth wide and close it back. It was so neat! Fluid around them was good at 13cm and my cervix had a small change to 4.3cm and Dr said it was not a worry at all. I did my GTT this time and got a great big sugar rush going on! I could tell that this time around something was going to be different and sure enough a few days later I get the YOU FAILED call. It was 140. I had nothing to eat or drink that morning either. I will be going every two weeks now because Dr said that it was getting close to time. My actual due date is Oct. 5 but he said in reality I would have a due date of Sept. 5. Twins tend to come a month early which is ok with me as long as they are ready and healthy.

Baby A at 20.2 weeks

Baby B at 20.2 weeks

20.2 week appt. Were having GIRLS!

I went to my 20 week check up on 5-20. I was so nervous. We had the sono done first. She measured baby a first and it went pretty smoothly. After she was finished with that she went to look and see what baby was and it was a GIRL! I wasn't shocked at all. I automatically knew then that the other was a girl also because of them being identical. She then went on to measure baby b and oh what fun that was! Baby b was being so active that she had to wait a min or two for her to settle down. They were literally kicking each other in the face! Poor babies. She finally got baby b measured and went to check and see what was in between and sure enough girl parts also. The tech had mentioned that she seen girl parts on baby b last time but couldn't say because it was still to early to be sure. I was a little over 13 weeks then. Then came the fun part. She wanted to try 3D/4D on the twins because she had never done it on twins this early. Unfortunately we didn't get to see much:( They were both facing my spine and wouldn't turn around. Then last she measured my cervix and said it looked great with and without pressure.

Next we went to get all the results from the Dr. and was happy to hear that the babies looked great! Baby A's weight was 12 oz and growing right on time. The fluid on the brain was great at 7mm. (anything under 10mm is good) Baby B's weight was 10 oz and brain fluids was 6mm. They both had plenty of water around them. I believe it was a little over 11.3 for each baby.  Also no sign of TTTS for now! Then he was sooo happy to see that my cervix was measuring 4.9cm! I'm safe from premature labor for now. He said that if it was measuring 2.5cm or less would be a great indicator for premature labor. I will go back for measurements again on 6-15. So that means I get another sneak peek! I can't wait:)

17 weeks

Had my appt. last Thursday. Got to hear their heartbeats for the first time with the doppler. Baby A decided to kick to doppler it was funny. Its HB was 160. Baby B as alway was calm its HB was 130. I havn't gained any weight and Dr said it was ok that babies were healthy. My BP was fine. I asked again if he was sure if they were identical and he said yes and explained why again. I'm kinda freaked out in a good way though. I'm gonna have 2 babies that look exactly alike! I go back on May 20 to have another sono done. This one is going to be the "BIG" one where we will find out lots of info including their sex! I can't wait. Praying for boys! If they are girls I will love them just the same.

I went to the Dr. yesterday. I was so sick with a virus. I really didn't get to enjoy it. Puked a few times while I was there. Had a sono done I got to see the babies again. Baby A is so active. He/She measured 13 weeks 5 days and heartbeat was 150. Baby B was moving around but not as much as baby A. Baby B measured 13 weeks 3 days and the heartbeat was 148. Dr. said they looked great and I go back in 4 weeks. I think we get to find out the sex of the babies then. I need to know gotta start shopping for things they need.

The Twins!

Baby A is on the left side and Baby B is on the right side.

My first visit to the Dr.

Well the first 2 and half months have gone by pretty quick. I have felt miserable. Lots of nausea and extreme tiredness if thats a word. I had a sono done on March 5th. I was just expecting to go in and it all be routine. My Dr. always jokes about there being more than one baby in there. Only this time it was no joke! I had my eyes glued to the screen looking for one little peanut in there with a heartbeat only to see TWO! My mouth dropped open wide and thought I was just seeing a reflection or something. I finally asked him if I was seeing what I thought I was seeing. He said "Well, yes it is." I was speechless. OMG! I'm having TWINS! He explained to me that they are Monochorionic twins. Thats two babies sharing a placenta and the same amnionic sac with a very small membrane dividing them. They are more than likely IDENTICAL! Then can the speech about what can go wrong. Not exactly what I wanted to hear but I had to. Since they are sharing one placenta there is a 15% chance that they can have Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. I was also told about the Vanishing Twin. He said that a pregnancy like mine was very rare. He hasn't seen a pregnancy like this in 15 yrs! I feel very special that god chose me of all people to carry twins. I would have NEVER in my life think that I would have twins. I go to have another sono done on April 1st. I can't wait to see my little babies again and I'm hoping and praying that they both are healthy and growing strong.

New to blogging.

This is my first time ever to start a blog. I figured that my life is about to be a bit more interesting. I wanted to start this blog for family and friends to follow along on my exciting journey. I'm soon to be a mom of six! Yes six! I'm now expecting twins.
